Who Are We?

Good News Productions, International works with Christians to develop culturally-relevant strategies and resources to effectively proclaim the gospel of Christ to the peoples of the world.

Good News Productions, International grew out of the 14-year ministry of Ziden and Helen Nutt in Zimbabwe, Africa.  While working in what was then known as Rhodesia, the Nutts soon discovered the value of visual teaching materials in drawing large crowds.  Because available audiovisuals were usually produced in English for Western audiences, Ziden worked with African leaders in producing culturally-accurate filmstrips and films using pictures taken in local villages to illustrate the gospel message.  These materials proved tremendously effective in not only attracting crowds but in communicating the gospel in the language and context of the people.

As missionaries in other countries heard about this strategy being used in Zimbabwe, some asked Ziden to expand the work to include their countries as well.  In 1975, the Nutts moved to Joplin, Missouri, and, with the partnership of many individuals and congregations, began the ministry of Good News Productions, International.  The work is now reaching into more than 96 countries with materials at various stages of production in over 105 languages.

Good News Productions, International is a non-profit ministry dedicated as an arm of the church of Jesus Christ to fulfill His Great Commission.  This is done by designing specific strategies for evangelism and leadership training efforts to fit each unique culture.  Virtually all work is done in cooperation with missionaries and national Christians who understand the targeted people groups.

Good News Productions, International operates under a Board of Directors who are assisted by International and U.S.A. Councils.  GNPI is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, and is a subscriber to their statement of faith and financial principles.  Though Good News Productions, International works with many different entities, we accept the Bible as our only rule of faith and practice, and work with people who do not claim to be the only Christians but Christians only.

Financial support from individuals and local congregations provide necessary funding.  Because of the generosity of donors, missionaries are not charged for materials produced for use in evangelism and leadership training.

With over 20 years of service by Good News Productions, International, it is a uniquely equipped ministry extremely effective in moving into the new millennium.  Strategically located regional production facilities and partnerships with missionaries and nationals allow for multiplied effectiveness in evangelism and leadership training.

The network of regional centers and partners is now showing how God is able to multiply the efforts of each as we cooperate on specific projects.  This synergy means many more being reached with the gospel.
